TechHUB SVI Nord is a maritime innovation network dedicated to security and defence technologies. Funded by the State Government of Schleswig-Holstein, the network's coordination office serves as a neutral point of contact, network facilitator and project initiator for companies, start-ups, research institutions and the German Armed Forces, particularly the German Navy.
TechHUB SVI Nord provides a platform that brings together industry, academia and the German Navy. Our goal is to accelerate the transition of technological innovations into practical applications. We support the development of relevant maritime security and defence technologies by initiating and facilitating technology projects from concept to operational readiness. The stakeholders involved face a wide range of challenges and requirements.
This is where one of the network's key strengths lies: providing guidance in a complex innovation landscape, connecting complementary expertise and bringing together the right partners at the right time. For example, start-ups can assess whether their technologies have military or dual-use potential, address specific operational needs of the German Navy and explore pathways for future collaboration. Research institutions can identify suitable industry partners for joint projects and consortia, while the German Navy gains access to innovative technological solutions that address concrete capability gaps and operational requirements.
Facilitating collaboration between these stakeholders and supporting promising projects through to practical implementation are among the core missions of TechHUB SVI Nord.

TechHUB SVI Nord is a joint initiative supported by partners from industry, academia and the State Government of Schleswig-Holstein. The network's coordination office is hosted by WTSH (Wirtschaftsförderung und Technologietransfer Schleswig-Holstein GmbH), the state's business development and technology transfer agency.
What does “Dual-Use” mean?
Dual-use technologies are innovations that have both civilian and military applications. TechHUB SVI Nord supports organisations in developing and transferring these technologies into real-world use, from early-stage ideas through to market-ready and operational solutions.
